IPCNY, New York, NY
January 20–March 26, 2022
IPCNY is very excited to be bringing Queer.Archive.Work (QAW)’s perspective as the jury of the 65th iteration of New Prints with the theme unfinished. This was conceived of by QAW and announced alongside the open call, soliciting works that stepped away from traditions of polish and perfection and instead expressed incompleteness, illegibility, risk, and queerness, among other themes. The resulting exhibition presents 49 works by 36 artists from the US and abroad.

“Within the loose theme of unfinished, we push up against capitalism’s relentless drive towards market-based success by making way for other kinds of stories,” said Queer.Archive.Work founder Paul Soulellis. “Unfinished includes actual works-in-progress, abandoned work, failed work, and work that is simply unfinished due to the myriad aspects and conditions artists experience while living and working during crisis—the radical turbulence of racial injustice, police brutality, class inequity, global pandemic, and climate emergency.”
